Haringey coronavirus (COVID-19) updates
As we start to see some areas of the north of England tightening COVID-19 measures again, it is crucial that everyone continues to follow government guidance and be respectful of others.
Everyone, including our young people, have played a vital role in helping to contain the spread of the virus, and the government has set out specific guidance for young people on social distancing and meeting people.
There is also information on returning to school, college or university and protecting different groups of people.
We would urge you not to meet in large groups, even in this nice weather.

The government has extended the self-isolation period, for people who are showing symptoms of the coronavirus, or a positive test result, to 10 days (from 7 days).
Those showing symptoms of COVID-19 are most infectious just before, and for the first few days after symptoms begin. It is very important people with symptoms self-isolate and get a test, which will allow contact tracing.
The main symptoms to look out for are:
• High temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
• New, continuous cough – coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
• Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If feel you have symptoms and need to arrange a test, please do so through the NHS Test and Trace Service (external link).
Eid Al-Adha begins this evening – Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating the festival.
It remains as important as ever to adhere to government guidance in other to keep each other safe.
Here are two local imams with a public health message, reminding everyone to continue following government guidance.
