Haringey coronavirus (COVID-19) updates
If you feel that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected your alcohol intake, you won’t be the only one. A Royal College of Psychiatrists survey found that in June, more than 8.4m people in England were drinking at higher-risk levels, significantly higher than the 4.8m reported in February before the lockdown.
The alcohol support charity Drinkcoach was founded in Haringey. It offers an online test for you to check your drinking level; if you are drinking at higher risk levels, you can sign up to receive Skype sessions to discuss your alcohol use and address any problems.
Once you complete the questionnaire and receive your score, you can then download an app and access online appointments to discuss your alcohol intake or gain support for reducing your alcohol consumption. You can take the test here.
The Government has launched a how to guide for couples planning to get married or enter into a civil partnership over the coming months.
Advice on how many people can attend, what test and trace measures you should have in place and even how you should say your vows, is included in the document.
It comes as part of a raft of Covid-19 recommendations to protect people from catching or passing on the virus.
New regulations that came into force on Monday have restricted the number of people you may socialise with both at home and outdoors.
The new anti-Covid-19 measures limit groups to just six people from different households, with a few exceptions.
Anyone found socialising in groups of more than this can face fines, which start at £100.
However, there are understandably many questions about what you can and cannot do under the new laws.
You can find the answers to a lot of them in this recently published Q&A (external link).
