Haringey coronavirus (COVID-19) updates
Community groups and organisations across London can now apply for support with active travel, through the Walking and Cycling Grants London (WCGL) programme.
Grants of up to £10,000, over three years, are available to support projects and programmes that remove barriers to walking and cycling and enable communities to enjoy the benefits of active travel during the coronavirus pandemic.
The programme also promotes confidence in participants, provides upskilling opportunities, enables greater physical, social and economic mobility, improves physical and mental health, reduce social exclusion and strengthens communities.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 15 October at 5pm.
Landlords must provide at least a six months’ notice period prior to seeking possession through the courts in most cases.
The new law means that tenants will have until March 2021 before they can be evicted from a property.
However, the legislation does not cover those responsible for anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse perpetrators.
For a full breakdown on what the new laws mean for both tenants and landlords you can find the information here (external website).
Advice on how to move home, including how to do property viewings safely during the Covid-19 pandemic, has been issued by the Government.
Prospective buyers and renters are being advised that many estate agents have changed their operations to offer virtual viewings in the first instance.
The guide also suggests that home-owners may want to require that anyone coming to visit their property should wear a face covering.
Above all the advice is that everyone from vendors to clients should allow the process to take longer than normal and to be flexible in their plans.
