Budget Consultation 2023-24
Haringey Budget 2023/24
This consultation closed on Friday 20 January 2023. Thanks to all those who took part.
This was a consultation for residents and businesses on Haringey Council’s budget for 2023/24. We also consulted on refreshing our existing Medium Term Financial Strategy Report to cover the period up to 2026/27.
The budget consultation document contains early ideas on how we will utilise our financial resources and:
- ensure we can continue to meet the significant need of our most vulnerable residents – through further, year on year additional investment in children’s and adult's services
- continue to improve services by getting the basics right – in line with the Haringey Deal - through greater efficiency, minimising transactional costs, making better use of technology, reviewing contracts and improving commissioning
- provide financial advice and support to residents who need it including through Council Tax Reduction, our Financial Support Team; and the Haringey Support Fund
- maintain critical support for our children and young people – despite little direct funding from Central Government - including Free School Meals for an additional 650 children who are just above the entitlement threshold; and putting the funding for the Rising Green Youth Hub on a long-term footing
- continue to invest for the long term in:
- tackling the climate emergency
- our public realm including cycling and walking infrastructure, roads, pavements and streetlights
- parks and green spaces
- school buildings
- additional properties to be used for high quality, temporary accommodation
