Priority 4 - Economy
Our vision is for a growing economy that provides opportunities for all our residents and supports our businesses to thrive.
Community wealth building is at the centre of our approach. We will focus on building wealth within the community and will pursue this agenda across all of our activities.
We want to build the strength, depth and wealth of our local economy and will create safe and attractive environments for both businesses and our residents to thrive. We will make sure that investment and development has the interests of our communities at its heart and is undertaken for the benefit of our local residents and businesses.
Our diverse and dynamic business community is a priority and we are committed to investing in and improving our services to businesses, recognising the contributions businesses make to our communities. Successful businesses not only offer more and better jobs for our residents, they also bring life to our town centres and high streets and provide a vital range of services on which many thousands of residents depend.
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to realise their potential and to build a future through rewarding work. That’s why our goal for Haringey residents is the chance to get a stable job, on decent pay. We are committed to creating more quality job opportunities in the borough and will work with our businesses to enhance apprenticeship and training opportunities for local people.
We are committed to achieving the following outcomes:
- A growing economy and thriving local businesses, supported by a community wealth building approach
- A borough where all residents have access to training and skills development opportunities and more people are supported into work
- A borough with more quality jobs with opportunities for progression
- Regeneration with social and economic renewal at its heart, focused on Tottenham and Wood Green
