About Your park
The irregular shaped 12 hectares of Green Flag award-winning Downhills Park is split into two very distinctive sections. To the west lies the recreation ground, used every weekend during the season for both organised sport and for more informal kickabouts by children and adults of all ages, throughout the year.
The formal gardens lie to the east of the Park. Today the elegance and sophistication of the early nineteenth-century design still remain. The ornamental Italian Gardens located at the heart of the Park, is a favourite with park users wanting a bit of peace and quiet, surrounded by annual blooms. The nearby tennis courts and hard ball area are set amongst beautiful trees and landscaped gardens. Find out more about the facilities in Downhills Park.
Downhills Park Cafe lies to the east of the park near the tennis courts and is situated close to the old bowling green. This is a great place to stop for a coffee and a nibble and let the kids run around, and hosts many community activities throughout the week.
