Reading Groups
Do you love reading?
Whatever kinds of books you enjoy reading (or listening to) our libraries have something for everyone: so-called 'Chick lit', Classics, Crime, Graphic-novels, Poetry, Romance, Science-Fiction, Thrillers, Westerns and other types of fiction.
If you cannot find what you are looking for, then for a small charge you may request any title and we shall do our very best to obtain it for you.
Join a Reading Group
These groups offer the opportunity to talk about your reading with other book-lovers and to try out authors you might not otherwise discover.
If you are a keen reader and like to discuss the books you read, why not join one of the Reading Groups? There are groups for adults and children and young people:
Reading groups for adults
- The Coombes Croft Library Reading Group
The group meet on the third Thursday of the month, 6pm to 7pm - St Ann's Library Book Group
Normally the group meets on the first Monday of the month, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Reading groups for Children and young people
Marcus Garvey Library:
- Chatterbooks Reading Group for 8 to 12-year-olds
Held monthly on Saturdays (date subject to change) from 3pm to 4pm - Teenage Reading Group
Held monthly on Saturdays (dates subject to change) from 2.30pm to 3.30pm
