We did it!
We all know that Haringey is a borough that fizzes with arts, culture and creativity and London Borough of Culture 2027 is our opportunity to share our stories with the world.
What is London Borough of Culture?
Launched in 2017, the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture award brings Londoners together. It puts culture at the heart of local communities, where it belongs, illuminating the character and diversity of London’s boroughs and showing culture is for everyone.
What does Haringey have planned?
We are going to pull out all the stops to organise a year-long festival of culture and creativity celebrating our rich history of everyday rebels and radical activists, as well as our cultural diversity and the warm welcome our borough has provided to many communities from around the world.
As well as utilising high-profile cultural spaces in the borough – including Alexandra Palace, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Jacksons Lane and Bruce Castle Museum – Haringey’s London Borough of Culture programme will bring arts and culture to the heart of local communities, with community-curated events taking place in every corner of the borough.
Find out more about our ambitions for our London Borough of Culture year, how this will benefit people across Haringey and beyond, and how you can take part.

Haringey Culture Collective
In July 2025, Cabinet gave the go-ahead to establish Haringey Culture Collective, a council-controlled charity tasked with delivering London Borough of Culture 2027 for the community from May 2027 through to March 2028.
The council-founded charity will be independent and responsive to the needs of the programme while also being able to lean into the expertise of the in-house culture team and partners. It will also have the ability to reduce demand on the local authority’s resources by bringing in external support through sponsorship not available to a council-hosted function, while the council will retain control over the charity through sole membership and board appointment rights.
