To show you how an apprenticeship can work for you, we decided to follow three apprentices in their day to day roles. Anna-Maria, Stella and Ryan each share their experiences on what it’s like to be an apprentice:

Have you considered an apprenticeship?


Apprenticeships are an opportunity to combine paid work with training and receive nationally recognised qualifications along the way. They also provide an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience of how the industry works.

Did you know?

  • 83% of apprentices said their career prospects had improved.
  • apprentices completing an apprenticeship at level 4 or above could earn £150,000 more, on average, over their lifetime.
  • 70% of surveyed employers said apprenticeships improved product quality and service.
  • after finishing, 85% of apprentices stay in employment.

Haringey Council Apprenticeships


As Haringey’s largest employer, we offer a number of apprenticeship opportunities.

We offer a range of apprenticeships including:

  • accounting
  • business administration
  • commerical procurement and supply
  • early years educator
  • energy management
  • horticulture
  • infrastructure technician
  • junior management technician

We pay:

  • Salary = £20,366 per annum
  • Hours = 36 hours per week Monday to Friday with the equivalent of 1 day a week to attend classes or workshops. All apprentices are required to attend work when not in college.

Requirements

  • People of all ages from 16 and over are welcome to apply.
  • You will need GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C/ 9-4 or above, or equivalent), dependent on the apprenticeship.
  • You need to be a Haringey resident or have attended a school/further education institution within Haringey.
  • We are keen to attract a diverse range of applicants and we encourage applicants from following groups: those with learning disabilities, leaving care and those returning to work.
