New Volunteering Qualification
We all have something to give to our community and exploring volunteering roles can also give you something back.
This online L1 qualification course will guide you through an introduction to the benefits of volunteering, volunteering organisations and local opportunities.
It will also help you to evaluate and match your skills to the requirements of specific volunteering roles, to understand the regulations and boundaries of being a volunteer and to take part in some exciting volunteering projects.

Functional Skills Maths
Functional Skills Maths - intensive L1/L2 qualification route for retraining, work or study, that will help you brush up on your maths skills.
The courses are particularly suited to those looking to retrain or progress in the NHS or teaching profession, or those wanting to go to University in October.

Functional Skills English
We offer a range of English courses at Haringey Learns for people who want to brush up on spelling and grammar and punctuation, to achieve a qualification for work or study or just to build confidence in writing for self-expression.
Functional Skills English fast track or development courses to build skills across effective reading, writing and presentation and to achieve progression qualifications for work or university from Entry Level to Level 2.
Lifelines and Building Confidence courses to practise and develop creative and persuasive writing.

ESOL courses help learners improve their language skills in order to enhance their employment opportunities or to help them access further education and training.

Community Learning Courses
Haringey Learns is committed to providing opportunities for life long learning for all adults in Haringey. We work closely with our community partners, schools and children’s centres to develop courses that are of interest to local residents, parents and communities.
Courses are mainly non-accredited and designed for personal enjoyment, well-being and in some cases for progressing to formal accredited programmes. You can choose from computing, family learning, parent and well-being tool kits.
We develop courses throughout the year in response to local interests and feedback from our partners, current and potential learners.

Business Administration
Our Business Administration courses will help you build confidence in being ‘work ready’ and improve your knowledge of what is expected in a business or local government office environment.
Our 'Access to Business Skills' course is a good starting point for anyone looking to develop employability skills and explore a role in bookkeeping or finance and ‘Local Government Working’ course covers the essentials of working in a business admin role and introduces some aspects of working in a local government environment.

Book-keeping and Accounting
We offer a range of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications at Level 1 and Level 2. AAT qualifications are recognised by employers as practical and technical qualifications that prepare learners for the world of work and for working specifically in accountancy and finance roles.

Adult Social Care
Working in the care sector makes a real difference to people’s lives.
If you have an interest in adult social care and want to provide safe, reliable, compassionate care and support to enable people to live independently and explore the Vocational Pathways in Adult Social Care. Also see the ESOL Course section above.

Counselling
Are you exploring a career in counselling or coaching? Our Level 2 award and certificate qualifications can help you start on that journey. We offer qualifications accredited by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body).
Qualifications are designed to enhance your emotional and social skills, and help you understand yourself and your relationships more clearly. These qualifications could also support a wide range of other job roles, eg social worker, nurse, care worker.

Effective Listening Skills
This Level 2 qualification will help develop your listening skills in a variety of personal and professional contexts to improve communication, work relationships, enhance personal relationships and promote better community relations. It could enhance an existing voluntary or paid role or increase employability if you are seeking to enter the job market.

Haringey Learns sub-contracts provision with local partners, where this enables us to improve access to learning. Opportunities to sub-contract are advertised annually and require the submission of an expression of interest.
