We offer a wide range of computer courses from beginners to more advanced level courses. These include courses for using a computer for complete beginners for those who have never used a computer, to beginners and introduction courses for those with some computing experience. You can take accredited courses at entry levels in Functional Skills in ICT progressing through to Level 2 in Information and Technology Qualifications (ITQs).

Start IT

A programme of courses designed for complete beginners who have no or little experience of using computers. Courses include: mouse and keyboard, computer basics, Internet for beginners, email for beginners, and silver surfers Internet for over 60s.

Microsoft Applications for Beginners

A range of different Microsoft Office applications designed for beginners who have completed the Start IT programme or who are comfortable using a mouse, email and Internet. Courses include: Word processing for beginners, Excel for beginners, Database for beginners, Word processing for improvers.

Accredited ICT Courses

Functional Skills in ICT Entry 2

Entry Level 2 ICT course for complete beginners. This course is designed for people with little to no skills in ICT or using a computer. You will learn how to hold a mouse, use a computer keyboard, save and open files correctly, search the internet for information and create and use an email account of your own.

Functional Skills in ICT Entry 3

Gain experience and understanding of MS Office software, email and the internet for work. Learn how to combine, search and arrange information using a range of software completing a range of short practical projects. Use this course to progress onto the Level 1 ITQ qualification.

Level 1 Certificate in ITQ (MS Office)

MS Office ITQ will cover the units Word Processing, Spreadsheets PowerPoint and Improving Productivity at Level 1. This fast track course will enable you to complete the full level 1 qualification in one term.

Level 2 Certificate in ITQ (MS Office)

MS Office ITQ will cover the units Word Processing, Spreadsheets PowerPoint and Improving Productivity at Level 2. Advance your skills in the most popular office software. This fast track course will enable you to complete the full level 2 qualification in one term.

HALS Online

Enrolment for all HALS courses is currently free - enrol now for your free place as fees are subject to change.
