Black History Tour of Tottenham: A free guided walk by Avril’s Walks and Talks

Join tour guide Avril Nanton on this free guided walk for Black History Month, taking in the historic heart of Tottenham from Seven Sisters station on the High Road to enigmatic Bruce Castle.
The tour takes in the main High Road area looking at the police station, the old Tottenham Royal, and other events taking place in Tottenham. Along the way you will discover more about King Philip of Spain when he arrived in England in 1554 to marry Queen Mary, bringing with him his Blackamoor servants. When King Philip left England many years later, his servants remained and built a life for themselves in Tottenham. Come and hear their fascinating stories.
- Starts: meet outside Costa Coffee Tottenham (N15 4RR) at 11am, by the junction of Tottenham High Road/West Green Road, near Seven Sisters tube station
- Ends: at Bruce Castle Museum, Lordship Lane, Tottenham N17 8NU
