Annual Carbon Report
Since 2012, we have produced a carbon report each year.
The report provides a transparent, year-on-year account of progress made to reduce carbon emissions from our operations and Haringey as a whole.
The report includes annual carbon budgets. These enable us to understand and account for our carbon emissions. Carbon budgets work in much the same way as financial budgets.

Summary of the 40:20 Target
We are on track to hit our 40% reduction target by 2020, which will be confirmed in the 2022 Annual Carbon Report.
We have reduced our emissions by 36.8% since 2005. We saw a decrease of 3.2% in carbon emissions between 2018 and 2019, which is in line with the trend in neighbouring boroughs and Greater London.
These figures are based on the 2019 emissions data published by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in 2021.
Summary of the Borough's 2041 Net Zero Carbon Target
We have reduced our borough emissions by 12% between 2015 and 2018. In the latest year measured for this dataset, emissions reduced by 2.4% between 2017 and 2018.
Haringey's emissions per capita remain well below the London average and average of our neighbouring boroughs.
These figures are based on the 2018 London Energy and Greenhouse Gas Inventory (LEGGI) emissions data published by the Greater London Authority in 2021.
Summary of the Council's 2027 Net Zero Carbon Target
Haringey Council has continued to successfully decrease its corporate carbon footprint. We reduced our corporate emissions by 16% between 2019/20 and 2020/21. This brings the total reduction to 62% from our 2014/15 baseline.
These figures are based on measured energy consumption across all council corporate and operational buildings.
