COVID-19 previous updates - 6 April
6 April 2020
Living with dementia already brings its everyday challenges. If coronavirus is making life harder or if you feel anxious, scared or lonely, help is available.
Alzheimer’s Society has published information on their website, offering advice and practical tips for people living with dementia, and those supporting them, who may be concerned with how coronavirus is affecting them.
They also have an online community Talking Point (external link), which enables people who are affected by dementia to talk and connect with other people.
To find out more, visit the Alzheimer's Society website (external link) or call 033 150 3456.
Our bulky waste collections will be suspended from this Friday (10 April) until further notice due to the impact of COVID-19 on our operations and the need to prioritise our services.
Current bookings up to and including Thursday 9 April will be honoured.
Ways you can help
Reduce your waste as much as possible:
- Please avoid having any clear-outs which result in the need to dispose of bulky items
- If you have ordered any new products, please check with the supplier who may provide a service to take the old item(s) away
- Only buy what you need
- Try to buy products with little or no packaging
- Do not place bulky items in the general waste bin - only use for small things that cannot be recycled
- Please do not fly-tip (dump rubbish) - it is illegal and you could be fined
We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adapt to the coronavirus pandemic.
We want to reassure the community that we’re still here to support our residents with their mental health and wellbeing needs at this time.
We’ve adapted our services to ensure that we are complying with the government’s social distancing measures and are keeping everyone as safe as possible during the outbreak - protecting ourselves, the most vulnerable in our community and our amazing NHS. We’re now able to support our community online, over the phone and via email.
Our Haringey Wellbeing Network will now operate via telephone and email: 07508 511 128 | HaringeyWellbeingNetwork@mih.org.uk, and MIND in Haringey will operate via telephone and email: 020 8340 2474 | email@example.com
