Help support the safeguarding of young people
The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges in effectively safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. In the current climate of uncertainty, it is now likely there will be a prolonged period where children’s school attendance will be significantly reduced, and many children and young people will continue not having contact with professionals.
It is vital that all professionals and members of our wider community are vigilant in supporting the safeguarding of children and young people in Haringey.
Haringey has a multi-agency safeguarding hub called the MASH that works with all partners and the community over the COVID 19 lockdown period to ensure Safeguarding Children is everyone’s business. The MASH will advise anyone (professionals and members of the public) observing or coming into contact with any concerns about a child. The MASH can be contacted: 020 8489 4470. Email: mashreferral@haringey.gov.uk
- For more information on the MASH and other numbers you can contact if you have any concerns please visit our COVID-19 Safeguarding children page.
Our parks this weekend
This bank holiday, we want to thank those of you who are following the rules on social distancing.
We know it is forecast to be another nice weekend, but we are urging you to stay at home and save lives. We’re working hard to keep our parks open and ask that anyone using them for exercise follows government guidance.
Here is Leader of Haringey Council, Cllr Joseph Ejiofor’s message to residents.
Small Business Grant Fund and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant
In response to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Government announced there would be specific support for small businesses, and businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors. This support includes two grant funding schemes: Small Business Grant Fund and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund.
Government guidance on the Small Business Grant / Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant has recently changed. We now have to collect and verify your business information to make business grant payments. Help us to help you get your grant funding quickly by filling in the Grant Form as soon as possible.
