Renewing your postal vote

Part of: Vote by post or by proxy

Postal vote applications now last 3 years, and must be renewed if you want to continue voting by post.

Following the introduction of the Elections Act 2022, if you vote by post, your application is valid for a maximum period of 3 years. After that, you will need to reapply to continue voting by post.

If you applied before 30 January 2024, your postal vote will expire on 31 January 2026. You must reapply to keep voting by post.
