You have the right to make a complaint to the Council if you think we have not handled your personal data responsibly.
You can complain to us if:
- we have not properly responded to your subject access request.
- we have not upheld any of your other data protection rights.
- we have not kept your personal data secure.
- we have misused your personal data.
- we have collected your personal data for one reason, and we are now using it for something else.
To make a complaint
To make a complaint please email Data.Protection@haringey.gov.uk with full details of your concern, what has happened and the effect it has had on you. Please include details to help us identify you and your data including account or reference numbers.
We may ask you for identification if you have not already provided this to us.
When can I expect a response?
We will acknowledge your complaint within five days. We will aim to respond to you within one month. If the investigation is going to take longer than one month, we will let you know.
Complaining to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
You have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You can also seek to enforce your rights through the courts.
The ICO would expect you to give us an opportunity to resolve your complaint before contacting them.
