Celebrating music-making in Haringey and Peru

Royal Albert Hall © Music For Youth, Photography by Alick CotterillNearly 2,000 children and young people from Haringey schools gathered to perform two exciting new pieces alongside a visiting ensemble from Lima, Peru.

These concerts follow on from the Haringey Young Musicians cultural exchange visit to Lima in August 2015. The concerts included items from the participating ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, Steel Orchestra and Senior Guitar Group. The highlights of the concerts were the world premieres of two new compositions commissioned from local composers James Redwood, Kate Stilitz and Jilly Jarman.
