Fraudulent Applications

If you suspect someone intends to use, or has used, a false address to obtain a school place, please click the red button below to let us know by completing the e-form. All submissions will be investigated.

You can submit this form anonymously, and any details you do submit will be kept confidential.

Let us know about fraudulent school applications

Haringey Council takes any attempt to obtain a school place through fraudulent means very seriously. If we find that a school place was obtained using a false or misleading address, we can withdraw the offer and give it to the child who was entitled to the place.

We consider that every school place obtained by deception is unfair, as other children are being deliberately denied their legitimate claim to take up that place. Rigorous checks will be carried out to ensure that applications are not fraudulent.

We reserve the right to undertake checks to verify any information provided on school application forms. We carry out random checks on a number of applications and we reserve the right to carry out home visits to the address used on an application form. We will also ask the new school to check the child’s home address at the time of admission. If it is different from the address on the application form, we will check whether the previous address was a temporary address, used for the purposes described above.

  • For further details please see the Haringey Address of Convenience Protocol (PDF, 326KB)

If you suspect someone intends to use, or has used, a false address to obtain a school place, please complete the e-form above. Alternatively, you may wish to email fraudcall@haringey.gov.uk in confidence.

You may also wish to write to the School Admissions Service directly. All cases will be investigated.
