Find your local schools

If you are a Haringey resident, then you can use Haringey’s Distance Calculator to find your distance measurement to Haringey schools. The calculator shows distances in miles, correct to 3 decimal places for houses only.

Currently the distances displayed online here for flats may be incorrect. The addresses we use as a council are drawn from the Local Land and Property Gazetteer and we are working to address this issue. If you live in a flat, please use the distance measurements provided for the building which your flat is within. For example, the measurement for '40 London Street' rather than 'Flat 2, 40 London Street'.

See below for more information about the precision of measurements used by Haringey School Admissions. We do not recommend that you make any home purchases based on the distances provided here.

You may also find it useful to:

  • Check online how far away from schools we have been able to offer places in the past - Cut off distances (distance of last child offered) - Information Sheet (PDF, 92KB)
  • See a map of all your local schools, both inside and outside Haringey (external link)

Precision of measurements

If you live outside Haringey

If you live outside Haringey and are interested in applying for Haringey schools you can find an approximate distance measurement online at the Department for Education website (external link). This page provides a rough approximation of your distance from schools, but in the majority of cases this is sufficient to demonstrate whether your home was inside or outside school cut-off distances in previous years:

  • Cut off distances (distance of last child offered) - Information Sheet (PDF, 93KB)

If you have already checked your distance on the Department for Education website (external link) and you would like to clarify your precise distance measurement to a Haringey school, please email your distance request to schooladmissionscs@haringey.gov.uk

We do not provide measurements to an intended or temporary address, so please provide your child’s only or main address when making your request.

If you live inside Haringey

Haringey’s Distance Calculator shows your distance measurement correct to three decimal places. In the majority of cases three decimal places is sufficient to demonstrate whether your home was inside or outside school cut-off distances in previous years:

  • Cut off distances (distance of last child offered) - Information Sheet (PDF, 93KB)

When allocating school places, Haringey measures distances to four decimal places. If you can demonstrate that your home borders the cut-off distance of a school for this year or the previous year (i.e, within 0.0005 miles of the cut-off distance per Haringey’s Distance Calculator) then Haringey will provide you with your distance measurement from that school to four decimal places. If this is the case, please email your request to schooladmissionscs@haringey.gov.uk.

If you are interested in applying for schools outside Haringey, you will need to contact the borough where the school is located for your distance measurement.
