Hello, my name is Jacqueline Harniman, and I am the SEND Service Manager for the Statutory Assessment Service which is part of SEND Integrated Services.

I have 20 years’ experience working in SEND, including in mainstream and special schools. For most of those years I have worked in Statutory Assessment Services, and in the last 7 years I have provided advice and support to a number of Local Authorities to assist them in improving services.

I have been working with Haringey for almost a year, mainly in the areas of SEND Improvement and Dispute Resolution, and I was delighted to be able to accept this new role. I am excited to be joining Haringey near the beginning of our ambitious improvement journey and to be supporting the service to improve the experiences of children, young people and their families through enhanced co-production, better communication and increasing the number of Education Health and Care Plans that we issue on time and to a high standard.

There is much work to be done. Staff in this service are enthusiastic about making the changes and are increasingly putting children and young people at the heart of their thinking. I am delighted to be part of this journey and look forward to working with my colleagues in the service, in wider services, schools, colleges and with parents, carers and young people so that, together, we can grow our service to deliver to the high standards that we want to achieve and to enhance the experiences of the community that we serve.
