Passenger Transport Services

Decisions regarding a child or young person’s travel arrangements are made by the Passenger Transport Services (PTS) office.

All arrangements regarding your child’s travel assistance should be made through the office, not your escort or travel buddy.

If you require any advice, have a query relating to your child’s transport, or if there is a change to your child’s circumstances, parents/carers should contact the team at School.Transport@haringey.gov.uk

The escorts, travel buddies, and travel trainers are Haringey employees and a key part of the SEND Integrated Service. They are trained to a high standard in order to meet your child’s needs.

Their training includes:

• Passenger assistant training (PATS)
• Managing children’s behaviour through strategies such as positive behavioural management
• Wheelchair use and securing on vehicles
• First Aid
• Safeguarding disabled children
• Communicating with children with disabilities
• Makaton/British Sign Language signing
