Adopting a Child
Why adopters choose Haringey
Haringey are part of a specialist adoption recruitment service called Adoption North London (external link), made up of six local authorities who work together to find adopters for children who need new families. Working together we have a wealth of experience and we know all about the children waiting for new families within our six boroughs and aim to ensure that children are linked and matched with families who can best meet their needs.
Together we have matched 240 children with adopters from April 2014 to March 2017.
We're here to help you through your adoption journey
All our children are special to us and we welcome your interest in offering your home to a child. The information here on our website will answer some of your questions about adoption but we would love to talk to you personally to answer any specific questions you have and to guide you through the process. Haringey will provide you with support from the moment you contact us, through the adoption assessment, the matching and placement of a child or children with you, and in the years after an Adoption Order has been made.
If you want to adopt and like the sound of Haringey, please start by downloading our Adoption Information Pack (PDF, 1MB)
Alternatively you can attend one of the consortium's monthly Adoption Information Sessions (external link).
