If you have a club premises certificate you can: 

  • apply to vary the conditions 
  • change the details on it 
  • get a replacement certificate 

Apply for a full variation 

A full variation is needed if you wish to: 

  • vary the hours of the licensable activities 
  • vary the types of the licensable activities 
  • make big structural changes to the licensed premises 

Fee (full variation)

The fee depends on your rateable value. Check the rateable value of your premises if you’re unsure.

After applying

There will be a 28-day consultation period. 

During that time you will need to advertise your application by putting: 

  • a notice on the premises 
  • an announcement in a local newspaper

At the end of the 28-day consultation period, you will be granted the full variation to a club premises certificate if: 

  • there are no outstanding objections 
  • all procedural requirements are met 

Apply for a minor variation 

A minor variation application should be made for: 

  • small alterations to the internal layout of the premises 
  • to remove any conditions on the licence
