Marriage Act 1949: Notice of application for premises to be approved as a venue for marriages and civil partnerships.
The Marriage [Approved Premises] Regulations 1995 state that premises can be approved by the Council if in its opinion amongst other things:
- they are seemly, dignified and regularly available for marriages and partnerships;
- they have adequate fire and other appropriate safety precautions; and
- they have no recent, or continuing connection with any religion, which is incompatible with the use of the premises as a venue for marriages and civil partnerships
Full details of these conditions can be obtained from the Proper Officer for the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages Service.
Any person wishing to see the application and plans of the premises may do so at the Office of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Haringey Register Office, George Meehan House, 294 High Road, Wood Green, London, N22 8YX, Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4pm.
Any person wishing to object to the application must give notice of their reasons, for example, why the premises do not comply with the conditions required by the Regulations.
Objections must be made in writing to the Proper Officer for the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages Service at the address below, and must be received within twenty one days of the date of this publication.
