Two weeks to go for One Borough One Future
Publication date: Monday 2 July 2012
Haringey Council’s pioneering One Borough One Future fund will be open for applications for two more weeks.
Anyone with an idea they think could help the council to deliver its aims for a better society is urged to submit it before 13 July.
The fund - which was recently increased to £1.5million - will be used to support ideas that will:
- deliver changes to services and working practices
- make creative use of resources
- offer new ways to meet needs, and
- find practical ways of making Haringey a more equal place to live and work
An innovation panel will select a range of ideas from those submitted and will help to work those into firm proposals before deciding which projects should be taken forward.
Priority will be given to ideas which:
- Reduce inequality
- Meet needs which aren’t currently being met
- Offer a more efficient approach to delivering council objectives
- Put the needs of residents at the heart of the process
- Offer value for money
- Be sustainable and self-sufficient
Cllr Joe Goldberg, Cabinet Member for Finance and Carbon Reduction, said:
"We’ve already had a great response to the One Borough One Future fund, which goes to show that local people share our ambition of a better Haringey for all.
"The best way of meeting the challenges facing the borough is to be open to every opportunity and idea. We’re keen to hear from as many people as possible, so if you have an idea which you think could make a difference, get in touch."
