A406 Works Update
There will be a road closure of the A406 east bound and west bound on 16 January 2011 between 12.01am and 5am from Green Lanes to Pinkham Way to remove the pedestrian foot bridge. Signed diversion routes will be in place throughout. For more details please go to the Bounds Green page on the Transport for London website (external link).
Bus routes affected
Due to the ongoing works on the A406 North Circular Road, traffic delays on Green Lanes have been affecting bus routes 121, 232, 141 and 329. Route 141 crosses the junction of Green Lanes and the A406 and has been particularly affected with delays of up to 30 minutes. To ensure a regular service between Wood Green Station and London Bridge, and to protect the service from significant delays across the entire route, the 141 will run between Wood Green Station and London Bridge only from January 2011. This will be until the works finish (approximately one year).
Routes 121, 232, 329 and N29 provide an alternative service north of Wood Green Station to Palmers Green. Routes 329 and 232 will have additional resources to maintain reliability (this has already been provided on route 232 as it goes along the section of the A406 directly affected by works).

The new footbridge is currently being assembled within the confines of existing security fencing on Bowes Road N11, behind properties 13-43 Elmdate Road. A406 Works – Update
Traffic on the Haringey connected section of the north circular A406 will be disrupted over the next six months as TfL carry out road improvement works.
Preparatory works have started at several locations along the length of the scheme to clear land and divert utilities, including between Green Lanes and Palmerston Crescent. Work has also begun on building a new carriageway for the A406.
Generally, the area between the Colney Hatch Lane turn off and Green Lanes will be the worst hit immediately by delays as several different works take place between the two points. Signage will be in place to warn of diversions.
Bowes Road and Palmerston Road
From Monday 16 August to 28 August works will require traffic management measures on the A406 Bowes Road which will temporarily close the junction of Palmerston Road/A406 Bowes Road.
Bowes Road and Green Lanes (northbound)
From the end of August work will begin on the footway and road at the junction of the A406 Bowes Road and Green Lanes.
The carriageway will be widened to three lanes and the works will continue until May 2011. The first phase will involve a banning of the left turn from the A406 into Green Lanes (northbound) for around three months.
For more information and details of diversions and other works visit the Bounds Green page on the Transport for London website (external link) or call 0800 066 5006 between 8am and 5pm.
