Find out about...

We are striving to become one of London's greenest boroughs. Our environmental strategy, the Greenest Borough Strategy was adopted in 2008, and sets out how we plan to embed environmental sustainability into everything we do. We also produced an Annual Carbon Report (PDF 1016KB) in January 2011 - the first of its kind amongst local authorities.

Latest News

Haringey Council has an ambitious target to reduce carbon emissions in the borough by 40 percent by 2020. This target was adopted by the Council in November 2009, as part of the Friends of the Earth 'Get Serious' campaign, together with a commitment to develop an action plan to achieve this target. Reaching this ambitious target will require support and action by local businesses, third sector organisations, community groups and individual residents.

Haringey 40:20 is an inititative of Haringey Council set up to encourage online discussions and generate ideas in addition to providing information for residents about our journey to 40:20 via a newly created website and online discussion forum.
