Council Tax Payments

Your council tax instalments are due on the first of every month from April to January. Please ensure your payments reach us prior to the due date. This will help to avoid you falling into arrears and losing the right to pay by instalments.

How can I pay?

Online

Direct Debit

Setting up a Direct Debit means you can pay your Council Tax on either the 1st or 15th of the month. Find out more about Direct Debit.

Telephone

Using the automated telephone payment service on 0845 070 1414. Select option 1 for council tax. You will be asked to quote your council tax account number shown on the front of your bill. You can also call Customer Services during office hours on 020 8489 1000.

Online or telephone banking

You can make a payment using online banking or telephone banking. Quote Haringey's bank account number 90662997, sort code 60-24-23, and your full council tax account number shown on the front of your bill.

Swipe payment card

You can also pay by swipe payment card where you see one of the symbols above. If you wish to pay by this method and you do not already have a payment card, please email council.tax@haringey.gov.uk and quote your council tax account number. Alternatively contact customer services on 020 8489 1000.

At any bank or Post Office

You may also pay by cheque, cash, debit or credit card. A fee may be charged if you pay at a bank other than your branch and a standard fee is charged by the Post Office. If you chose to pay by cash or cheque through a bank or post office you should allow at least five working days for your payment to reach your council tax account. Recovery action may be taken against you if your payment is late.
