Response to press reports regarding bin collection problems

Press reports claiming that there were major problems with bin collections over the Christmas and New Year period have been rejected as wildly inaccurate and unfounded by the council.

Responding to the reports, a Haringey Council spokesman said:

“All collections took place as planned after the Christmas weekend – ie the week ending December 31st – and in Haringey that means keeping to normal collection days.

As was the case in many other areas, the heavy snow caused a few problems leading up to the holiday period. If any residents experienced particular problems, the council would be happy to follow these up.”
