Indices of Deprivation 2007
The Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) has released the new Indices of Deprivation 2007 (ID 2007). This replaces the Indices of Deprivation 2004 (ID 2004).
The ID 2007 are measures of deprivation for every Super Output Area and local authority area in England. It combines a number of indicators across the following seven domains:
- Income
- Employment
- Health deprivation and disability
- Education, skills and training deprivation
- Barriers to housing and services
- Living environment deprivation
- Crime
These domains are then combined into a single deprivation score and rank for each small area in England.
There are also six district level summary measures, an Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index and an Income Deprivation Affecting Older People Index.
