Local Development Scheme (LDS)
Local Development Scheme (LDS)
Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, all local authorities have to produce a Local Development Scheme (LDS). The LDS sets out the timetable for the preparation and development of local development documents over a three year period.
The LDS is reviewed annually as part of the Annual Monitoring Report and submitted to the Greater London Authority. The LDS has been revised and now covers a three year period up to March 2013. It was agreed at the Council's Cabinet on 14 September 2010 and came into effect on 17 November 2010.
The current LDS was formally revised and agreed at Cabinet on 19 July 2011. This review was necessary as there were significant changes to the timetable for the preparation of key documents. The Updated LDS Summary Timetable can be viewed below.
Recent circumstances mean that adoption of the Core Strategy has slipped from February 2012 to June 2012 (to be confirmed following receipt of the Inspector’s report). In addition, submission of the North London Waste Plan Development Plan Document to the Secretary of State was slightly delayed and adoption is now expected in July rather than April 2012. The Council has included these amendments in a wider review of the LDS and the final draft is currently in the process of being signed-off. The revised LDS will be available through the Council website at the end of March 2012.
