Appearance
- Adult - 2-3mm in length. Humped thorax. Fine hairs cover the body. Elytra (wing cases) have ridges with indentations.
- Larva - active in early stages of development. Bores into hard substances. They are able to detoxify some poisonous substances.
Grain Weevil
Sitophilus granarius
Appearance
- Adult – 2–3mm in length. Oval indentations in thorax. Black–brown colour. Cannot fly (fused elytra). Rostrum (snout).
- Larva – usually hidden within grain where it pupates. Legless. Prefers wheat and rye but will infest other cereals.
Flour Mite/Grain Mite
Acarus siro
Appearance
- Adult - 0.5 mm long. 4 pairs of legs. White or pale brown. Slow moving.
- Larva - 6 legged and 0.5 mm long. White in colour. Passes through two 8-legged nymphal stages.

A course of treatment consists of one appointment date.
Two working days Notice must be given if you wish to cancel an appointment. If you fail to give two working days notice or miss an appointment and wish to re-book, a further charge will be made of:
- £31 for Domestic and Commercial Rate Clients
- £18 For Concession Rate Clients.
