We enforce a wide range of legislation, which covers:

- False claims on goods and services
- Weighing and measuring of goods
Consumer Direct
If you need consumer advice, or wish to make a complaint about a business, please ring the Government funded 'Consumer Direct' telephone helpline 08454 04 05 06 or 01622 626520 which provides help and advice for consumers in Great Britain and also provides advice by email via their website which is assessed via direct.gov.uk. There are two links, one to read information on consumer rights, and the other to register a complaint by e-mail. Consumer Direct works in partnership with Trading Standards departments across the country and keeps them updated on all the cases it deals with. It also refers those cases which may need further investigation to Trading Standards.
