Starting Reception Offers

Update - 17 April 2013

Starting Reception offer letters have been posted to all Haringey applicants today and letters should arrive at your home address tomorrow.

We cannot guarantee that your offer letter will be received on 18 April 2013.

Applicants who applied online should receive an email with login details for the eAdmissions website (external link). You will be able to login from the evening of 17 April to view your offer. We advise online applicants to wait for your offer letter before accepting your place.

Appeals for Starting Reception in September 2013

If your child is not offered a place at one of the schools you listed on your form, you can appeal against this decision to an independent appeal panel. Please refer to your offer letter for details on how to make an appeal. This information, along with an appeal pack, can be also be found on our appeals page.

Starting Reception Appeal Timetable

  • Deadline for appeal forms to be submitted - 17 May 2013
  • Appeal to be heard within a reasonable time**

**On time appeals must be heard before 19 July 2013. Any appeals received after 17 May 2013 will be included, if possible with those being heard for the same admissions round. However, if this is not feasible, they will be heard within a reasonable time but possibly not before September 2013.

Apply now for a school place in September 2013

To apply for a school place, or to find out more about Haringey schools, click on the relevant links below.

If you live in Haringey, you must apply through us for a school place, even if the school is out of the borough.

If you live in another borough but want to apply for Haringey school, you must apply through your home borough.

All applications must be supported with proof of your child’s address. Further information is available in the booklets which can be viewed by clicking the links in the table below. If you provide your council tax account number (in the space provided on either the online or paper application form) you do not need to provide a copy of your council tax bill.

For admissions for September 2013, we strongly recommend that you apply online for a school place (external link).

For children with special educational needs, please follow the admissions procedures for children with special educational needs and not those outlined below.

Please note:

  • the council is currently consulting on the proposal to close The John Loughborough School. Find out more about the proposal and have your say on the John Loughborough School consultation page
  • the Schools Adjudicator's decision on the proposed expansion of Belmont Infant and Junior Schools has been published on the schools expansions page
  • the Local Authority does not process applications for fee paying (independent) schools. Applications for fee paying (independent) schools should be made directly to the relevant school

Schools Choice Framework

Data Protection

Haringey Council will handle the information you have provided in line with the provisions of the Data Protection Act. Any personal information will be held in confidence with only the necessary people able to see or use it. Under the Data Protection Act you have the right to make a formal request in writing for access to personal data held about you or your child.

Haringey has a duty under the Children’s Act 2004 to work with partners to provide and improve services to children and young people in the area. Therefore Haringey may also use this information for other legitimate purposes and may share this information where necessary with other bodies responsible for administering services to children and young people. Haringey also has a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and to this end it may use the information you have provided on this form for the prevention and detection of fraud.
