Rhodes Avenue Primary School Consultation

On the 21 July 2009 the Council agreed a Cabinet Report recommendation that Rhodes Avenue Primary School should be expanded from its current two forms of entry to three forms of entry.  This expansion will begin with the reception intake of children in September 2011. We have been considering expansion of the school because demand for places in and around Alexandra ward is high, and projections overall for Haringey show a continuing rise in primary numbers. We need to plan accordingly to ensure that we have sufficient primary places to meet demand.

In October and November 2008 we carried out a first stage of consultation on the possible expansion. A further period of public consultation was carried out between 24 April and 22 May 2009. We considered the responses to the consultation, along with all other material considerations, and a report was prepared for consideration by the Council's Cabinet on 21 July 2009.

On the 21 July, Cabinet agreed the report that recommended that the expansion should go ahead. The Rhodes Avenue Statutory Consultation report (July 2009) is available to view under the attached files section below, along with other documents that were prepared as part of the consultation process. Consultation on the design of the expanded school continues to be an on-going process. Further consultation will also be carried out as part of a planning application that is required for the expansion.
