Osborne Grove
A decision to close Osborne Grove Nursing Home on quality of care and safety grounds was made by Cabinet on Tuesday 12 December.
Cllr Bernice Vanier, Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Culture said:
“The decision to close Osborne Grove Nursing Home on quality of care and safety grounds was a difficult one to make. I’m very aware that in the past the home has served older residents of Haringey and their families well.
“However whilst some improvements have been made, as evidenced in the most recent CQC inspection report, concern remains about the pace and sustainability of these improvements going forward.
“As a responsible care provider, safeguarding of our residents is our main priority and this decision allows us to use resources effectively to ensure the best possible quality of care.
“Over the coming weeks, we will continue to work very closely with residents, their families and carers, social workers and health services to develop individual implementation plans that will ensure the process of change is safely, quickly and sensitively handled. This will include a comprehensive review of the care and support needs of each resident with a view to identifying an alternative provision that meets their needs.
“We are also working with the Osborne Grove staff team and will ensure they are fully supported during this time.”
