Perfume has been seized from a man illegally selling goods on Wood Green High Road. The seller fled - our investigations continue.

- In two evening operations earlier this week, our Enforcement team issued 13x £400 fixed penalty notices, served 11 enforcement notices and reported one business to our Licensing team for a breach of its premises licence.
22 March 2018
- The private forecourt of a business in Lordship Lane was continually littered and not being properly maintained. Our Enforcement team asked the owner to clear the litter and when they failed to do so, issued a Community Protection Warning. This required the forecourt to be cleared and measures put in place to stop it happening again in the future. All litter and waste has now been cleared from the area.

- Our enforcement team carried out two late night operations resulting in six £400 Fixed Penalty Notices being issued for fly-tipping.

- After footage from one our CCTV cameras was passed to our enforcement team recently, the owner of a fast food restaurant in West Green Road was given a formal caution for fly-tipping and contributed £524 to council costs. The business had deposited three black refuse sacks on the pavement after running out of branded commercial sacks. Businesses must pay for collection of their commercial waste, and must use branded refuse sacks when they put waste out to be picked up from a public highway.

- Two late night enforcement operations this week resulted in nine separate £400 fly tipping Fixed Penalty Notices and one other £110 fine for using the wrong waste receptacle.
- A resident was issued with a Formal Caution and paid a contribution of £150 towards our costs after building waste was dumped in Seymour Avenue, N17. The resident had used a builder to carry out work at a nearby property, and he had left the items behind. The resident was unable to provide the builders details and was reported for breaching their Household Duty of Care.
- Sixteen unlicensed gaming machines and an illegal betting terminal were seized in raids on five businesses as we teamed up with the Gambling Commission and the police to tackle rogue gambling. We will look to prosecute all of the businesses involved.

- Today at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, the owner of Fish Fish restaurant on Archway Road, N6 was sentenced after pleading guilty to six counts of fly tipping and one count of failing to provide valid waste documents. The owner was fined £2,800 and ordered to pay £1,292 in costs with a £170 victim surcharge, totalling £4,262. The fly tipping offences took place from March to October 2017. Waste, which regularly consisted of black bags and cardboard boxes, was frequently dumped either across the road from the restaurant or at the junction of Causton Road and Cromwell Avenue. As well as repeatedly changing company names to avoid liability for legal action, the restaurant owner had refused to pay a number of fixed penalty notices and refused to acquire a waste contract.

- Two recent late night operations resulted in our officers issuing seven £400 fixed penalty notices for fly-tipping offences.

- In a late-night enforcement operation, our officers fined nine businesses £400 each for fly-tipping, and four more were fined £110 each for using the wrong waste receptacle.

- A man has been jailed for nine months for a string of offences, including common assault, drugs matters and trademarks crimes in Tottenham. The man attended Wood Green Crown Court, following hard work from our enforcement team and the Partnership Policing Team. He was also caught selling counterfeit tobacco at White Hart Lane market and on Tottenham High Road, and he was ordered to forfeit it and pay a victim surcharge.

- Our enforcement officers gave six businesses £400 fixed penalty notices for fly-tipping in a late night operation.

- Our enforcement team seized a huge haul of tobacco, alcohol and prescription medicine from a Tottenham supermarket following a late night patrol. Unlicensed alcohol was found in the shop itself and in the cellar. HMRC are investigating. Also on the night, five £400 fines were issued to businesses

- The owner of a shop on West Green Road must pay £800 after being prosecuted at Highbury magistrates court for selling a knife to an underage person in a council test purchase operation.
- A business owner on West Green Road has paid a £400 fly-tipping fine after appearing at our offices for a formal interview. Weeks earlier, on 19 October, Veolia found evidence in a fly-tip in N15 containing fridges and chairs and passed it to our enforcement team, who traced the dumped items to a café in Romford. In an interview, the Romford business owner revealed they had sold the items on to another business in West Green Road. Our team tracked down the Haringey business owner and, following an interview, the company admitted dumping the items and paid the fine
9 January 2018
- In our late-night Operation Twilight, we targeted fly-tippers, offered support to rough sleepers, fined street traders breaching licences and warned a group of men about street drinking:
- We issued four £400 fly-tipping fines after business waste was dumped in black bags in the street. Enforcement notices will also be served to the owners to ensure they have a trade waste agreement in place. If they fail to comply they may get a further fine.
- We offered support to three rough sleepers and were able to refer one male to the Homeless Persons Unit for assistance.
- A £100 fine for breaching a street trading licence was handed to a business owner whose display in front of the business was more than the allowed 1 metre.
- A Muswell Hill business owner was recently convicted for unlicensed street trading over tables and chairs set out in the street in front of the business. The owner continued to put these out without a licence and we have spoken to the individual again.
- Three men were handed a warning notice about street drinking in a Public Space Protection Order area. All males were spoken to and given advice about the restricted area
