Haringey Council has appointed Niall Bolger as the Director of its newly established Urban Environment department.
He is currently the interim Assistant Director for Housing Strategy and Regeneration at Hammersmith and Fulham Council and has almost 20 years of local government experience.
He said:
“I’m very pleased to be joining Haringey and am looking forward to the challenge of overseeing the new department.
“In particular, I am excited by Haringey’s ambition to become the greenest borough in London and greatly look forward to helping the council deliver on that.”
The new Urban Environment department was created in a recent reshaping of Haringey Council. It incorporates planning, economic regeneration, streetscene services, enforcement, housing strategy and needs, with Graham Beattie currently acting as interim Director.
Executive Member for Environment and Conservation, Cllr Brian Haley, said:
“I am delighted that Niall is joining us. He has a huge amount of local government experience and an excellent track record of delivering improvements to services.
“I and my colleagues look forward to working with him towards making Haringey an even better place to live and work.”
