Nature watching with David Cottridge
Let’s face it – city life is pretty hectic! Very few of us ever get the chance to really discover and appreciate the world around us. One such person who never has that problem is David Cottridge – a wildlife photographer from Tottenham who has spent the last 31 years capturing inspiring images of beautiful natural environments across the UK.
Inspired by nature and locations around him, David uses his photography skills to capture the vibrant colours, tones and textures of the habitats surrounding him. David originally began his career painting and printmaking, then transitioned to photography, specifically birds. His love of birds shines prominently through his work which often showcases species which are scarce or rare to this country.
With Tottenham Marshes and Lee Valley Regional Park on his doorstep, David is never short of beautiful landscapes to shoot. If you would like to find out more about this inspiring local artist, you can catch some of David’s work at his Selected landscapes 1975--2015 exhibition at Hornsey Library, N8 9JA, from now until December 17.
