St Thomas More Catholic School Art Success
Thursday 25 May 2017
Last week, The Knights of St Columba awarded four pupils from St Thomas More Catholic School, Wood Green, prizes in the annual Easter Triduum Art Competition. The Triduum is the period of three days that begins with the liturgy on the evening of Maundy Thursday and ends with evening prayer on Easter Sunday. To enter the competition, pupils had to paint an interpretation from one day of the Triduum. Many Schools from the Diocese of Westminster entered the competition so having four winners from St Thomas More is an outstanding success.
First Prize went to Sofia Petruzzelli, Year 7 who was awarded a £75 voucher. Marianne Chaaban, Year 8 came second in Group 1 and received £50 voucher. Christina Mikeli, also Year 8 came third in Group 1 and was given a £25 voucher. Finally, Sara Chrusciel, Year 10 was awarded the Province Prize.
The school is delighted with the pupils’ success which reflects in the strong Catholic ethos of the school and the wonderful work pupils produce in the Art Department.
