Topics for review

Topics chosen for in-depth investigation are developed in consultation with:

  • councillors
  • officers
  • partners
  • members of the public

The aim of the reviews is to make recommendations to improve a particular service area.

How topics are chosen

Scrutiny topics are chosen in relation to:

  • priorities as set out in the Corporate Delivery Plan
  • government policy and new legislation which identifies additional or changed duties or powers
  • views on local services expressed in independent assessments such as:
  • the views of the local community, including service users
  • where work is seen to have greatest impact
