Mayor's special fund

Part of: The Mayor of Haringey

My chosen charity this year is Open Door, which treats young people from ages 12 to 24 living with mental health issues.

More young people than ever are making the brave step to ask Open Door for help. Referrals for their young people’s therapy service and parent/carer service have increased by over 40% and the need continues to rise.

75% of mental health difficulties start before the age of 24 and of those, 50% start before the age of 14. By looking after the mental health of our young people, we look after their whole lives.

Through supporting open door I will not only raise much needed funds, but will use my mayoralty to highlight this not so hidden epidemic and to raise the profile of this wonderful charity in the heart of our borough.

Open Door – Better mental health for young people.

If you wish to make a donation to Open Door, you can do so on the Mayor's JustGiving page:
