Activities for Older People
Haringey's leisure centres offer a variety of activities that are suitable for older people, including those who are already active and those who are just starting to do regular exercise.
Did you know that if you are over the age of 65 and live in Haringey, you can use the gym (and other limited facilities) at Park Road, Tottenham Green and Broadwater Farm centres for free on weekdays between 9am-5pm! Find out what activities for older people are on offer at leisure centres in Haringey. These centres are managed by Fusion:

In addition, there are also activities for older people taking place in venues around Haringey offered through other organisations.
Singing for the Brain is a fun and social activity for people with dementia. You can also attend with a friend, family member or carer. There is a warm up activity involving easy stretching exercises (some light arm and leg and hand warm-ups. People with mobility problems do not need to take part in the warm up exercises if they prefer not to).
These sessions are free and refreshments are also provided. Sessions take place on Thursdays from 2-4pm at the Irish Centre, Pretoria Road, N17 8DX.

Creative Dance 60+ is a warm, friendly and very sociable group. You will learn free-form dancing where you're encouraged to express yourself in contemporary free-form dance. Creative dance can offer health and well-being benefits such as increasing your self esteem and confidence. This group is for active older people and new comers will need to complete a short form to ensure they are suitable for this activity. Classes cost £2.50 per session. The group meets every Wednesday at 10am - 11am at Tottenham Green Pools and Fitness Centre, 1 Philip Lane, N15 4JA. Visit the Dance, Exercise and Movement page for more choices.
Silver FIT are fitness sessions run for over 45's. Sessions are open to men and women. It doesn't matter whether you have never exercised before or have many years experience. Sessions include badminton, cheerleading and yoga. These sessions run every Tuesday at The Hub in Lordship Rec, N17 6NU from 10.30am.

Better with Age is run by Tottenham Green Pools and Fitness Centre on Friday mornings from 9.30am-12.30pm. The aim of the programme is to improve the health outcomes of Tottenham residents, both individually and for the community. These sessions are offered to anyone over 40 years old.
You can join the gym, take part in aerobics or swimming, to name just a few of the activities available.
