Further details of how this review was conducted is contained in a scoping report (PDF, 486KB) which was agreed by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee in July 2015.
Who was consulted?
The Committee met with a range of interested parties, including event organisers, police, Transport for London and members of the Finsbury Park Events Stakeholder Group. The Committee also invited comments from local residents and members of the public as part of the review.
In addition to talking to the above interested parties, the Committee also visited Finsbury Park to observe events taking place there.
What were the outcomes from this work?
Members of the Committee considered all the evidence presented from stakeholders and produced a report detailing its conclusions and recommendations which was agreed at Overview and Scrutiny Committee on 17 October 2015. This report, together with its response, was considered by Cabinet in December 2015. An update report on how the Council was implementing the recommendations was presented in March 2016. You can view all of these three reports below:
- Scrutiny of Finsbury Park Events - Final Report (PDF, 762KB)
- Scrutiny of Finsbury Park Events - Cabinet Response (PDF, 386KB)
- Finsbury Park Events - Update (PDF, 395KB)
What happens next?
Overview and Scrutiny Committee will continue to monitor the implementation of those recommendations agreed by Cabinet. A further progress report is expected before the end of 2017.
