Support network
As an NQT you will have a reduced teaching timetable, 10% release time throughout your NQT year and an additional 10% for planning preparation and assessment time as part of the national agreement for all teachers.
A structured support network exists in Haringey for our new teachers. You will be allocated a fully trained mentor to nurture and monitor your progress throughout the induction period.
|back to topBenefits
Although defined as an outer London borough, we pay teachers inner London allowance. This means that NQTs in Haringey are awarded the higher London allowance.
NQT's currently earn a minimum of £24,168 and possibly more depending on experience and schools' policies.
|back to topPool recruitment for primary teachers
We have completed our pool recruitment for NQTs commencing in the Autumn Term 2008. Our next pool recruitment will commence in January 2009. Look out for our main advertisement in the TES in January.
|back to topRecruitment for secondary teachers
We do not operate a pool system for secondary NQTS, applicants are asked to respond to advertised posts in the Times Educational Supplement (see external links section below) and on our jobs and training section.
