Family Learning Courses

Are you a parent or carer of a child in a Haringey school?

Family Learning courses are free and designed to help you develop the skills and confidence necessary to support your children's learning and develop your own literacy/numeracy and language skills.

These courses help parents and carers understand the jargon used in education and tell you more about school life and the national literacy and numeracy strategies. On family literacy and family numeracy courses parents and carers can become directly involved in their children learning through working together in a structured session using a range of different resources. The courses are fun and will involve you more in your children's education.

Taking part in these courses can help if you would like to improve your Information Communication Technology, basic skills and English language (ESOL). You can also gain a national qualification and get advice from our Employment and Learning Advisers about progressing to other courses and possible options if you want to return to work.

All Family Learning courses are free and there are free creche places on most courses. Courses in schools are open first to the parents/carers of children at the school.
