Help for Residents

The Haringey Guarantee has been specially designed to meet the needs of local unemployed residents who want to get a job. It is our Guarantee to local residents that our employment and skills programmes will deliver:

• a professional quality service
• information, advice and guidance
• tailored education and training
• work placements/volunteering opportunities
• employment advice and support getting a job
• priority interviews for college programmes and places
• guaranteed interviews when applying for employment opportunities with partners

We aim to support as many people as possible into jobs with a future. We also run targeted projects which specifically work with:

• Final year CoNEL students and recent CoNEL leavers – see Moving Forward.
• People with health problems or disabilities – see Working for Health or Workstep.
• Women with children looking for part time work – see From School Gates to Salaries.

In addition, we have projects focused on getting residents work experience, as well as projects offering free accredited training in Youth and Play Work, Security Industry work, and training to volunteer at the 2012 Olympic Games. Read about all the Haringey Guarantee projects.

The Haringey Guarantee works closely with local businesses to ensure that the programme addresses their needs and skills shortages and can provide local employees who are professional, suitably trained and ready to work. It is our Guarantee to local businesses that our programmes will produce:

• committed workers with positive attitudes to work
• a local workforce with low travel to work times
• workers who reflect the diversity of the local community
