Haringey Guarantee Survey
A survey was carried in summer 2007 to get your views on how the Haringey Guarantee is helping local people to increase their skills and find work. We got the views of people who have used the Haringey Guarantee and employers and you told us that the Haringey Guarantee is really making a difference to help people get back to work. More specifically:
- 95% of surveyed Haringey Guarantee participants (22 participants were surveyed) believed the quality of support they received was either good or very good.
- 95% of project participants believed their needs were at least partly met.
- 81% of project participants felt that the support they received from the Haringey Guarantee helped to improve their employment prospects.
- 89% of employers felt they received excellent or good support from the Haringey Guarantee team (9 employers responded to this question).
We also asked 200 members of the general public, living mainly in Bruce Grove, Noel Park and Northumberland Park wards, about their employment circumstances and, if they were out of work, the support they felt would most help them get back to work. A summary of what you told us is provided below:
- 80% of the people surveyed were not currently in employment or training:
- 26% had been out of work for 2-6 months
- 49% for more than 6 months and
- 15% have never had a job.
- 22% of respondents were not actively seeking work.
- 41% of respondents who had unsuccessfully applied for a job in the 6 months prior to the survey didn’t ask for any feedback from the employer.
- Workless respondents saw employment advice and work placements or volunteering as the most helpful services in helping them to find work.
We have taken all of this feedback on board and will be using it to improve the way in which the Haringey Guarantee helps people get back to work. More information about these improvements will be provided in the Haringey Guarantee section of this website in the near future.
