Improving Private Rented Property Standards

Private rented property is a vital source of housing for Haringey residents. Haringey Council is actively seeking to work with our private landlord partners to raise standards throughout the borough.

There are a number of initiatives already underway and more are planned for the future.

The Accredited Letting Scheme (ALS)

This is a sustainable private sector housing option for homeless households. It has been developed in close partnership with local landlords, letting agents, tenancy support, the housing benefit service, the local rent service, the Housing Ombudsman and the National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS) which is an accreditation scheme for letting agents.
